These terms
By creating an account or using PokeSense you agree to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the app. If we change these Terms in a way that matters, we will say so in the app before the change applies to you.
What the app does
PokeSense identifies trading cards from a photograph, keeps them in a collection you own, shows market price information for them, and can produce an estimated condition grade from photos you take.
Identification runs on your own phone. Grade estimates are produced by an AI service (Google Gemini) from the photos you submit for grading.
Estimates are not appraisals
A grade estimate is an opinion formed from your photograph. A photograph cannot show everything a person holding the card can see, and a grading company may return a different grade. Prices come from third-party market data and change constantly.
Nothing in the app is an appraisal, an offer to buy or sell, or financial or investment advice. Decide what to submit, buy or sell on your own judgement.
Your account
Keep your login details to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account. Give accurate information when you register. You may delete your account and everything in it at any time: Settings → Profile → Delete Account.
We may suspend or close an account that breaks these Terms, abuses the service, or is used to attack or overload it.
Fair use of the service
Do not attempt to break, overload, reverse-engineer or automate the service, or use it to infringe anyone else's rights. Scanning is metered per account, and those limits exist so one user cannot spoil the service for everyone.
Who can use PokeSense
You must be 16 or older to create an account or use PokeSense. If we learn that an account belongs to someone under 16, we will delete it.
Your content
The photos you take and the collection you build remain yours. You give us permission only to store and process them so the app can work for you — identifying cards, estimating grades, syncing your collection to your devices. We do not sell your content and we do not publish it.
Subscriptions, payment and cancellation
PokeSense is free to use with a monthly allowance. An optional subscription raises that allowance and adds features.
Subscriptions are sold and charged through Google Play, and Google is the merchant for that purchase. A subscription renews automatically until you cancel it, and the price and period are shown before you buy.
Cancel at any time in Google Play: Play Store → Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → PokeSense → Cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal; the paid features stay until the period you already paid for ends.
Refunds
Because Google Play takes the payment, refunds are requested from Google: Play Store → Menu → Payments & subscriptions → Budget & order history → the order → Report a problem. Google decides these requests under its own refund policy.
If something in the app went wrong, write to us at obsidianbuilddevelopers@gmail.com and we will help — including asking Google to refund on your behalf. We cannot issue a Google Play refund ourselves.
EU and UK consumers have a 14-day right to withdraw from a distance purchase. Digital content and services are an exception once delivery has started with your consent: buying a subscription unlocks it immediately, so that right may no longer apply. If you believe it applies to your purchase, contact us and we will deal with it.
Availability
We work to keep the app running, but we do not promise it will be available without interruption. Prices, market data and card information come from third parties and may be incomplete, delayed or wrong.
Our liability
Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law — including death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud.
Otherwise, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for decisions you make to buy, sell, submit or insure a card based on an estimate or a price shown in the app. If we are liable for something, our liability is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim.
If you use PokeSense as a consumer, you keep all the rights your national consumer law gives you; nothing here takes those away.
Trademarks
PokeSense is an independent app. It is not produced by, endorsed by, or affiliated with The Pokémon Company, Nintendo, Game Freak, Creatures Inc., PSA / Professional Sports Authenticator, or any other grading company or publisher. Card names, set names and images are the property of their respective owners and are used to describe the cards you scan.
Law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the law of the Netherlands, and disputes belong to its courts. As a consumer you may also bring a claim in the courts of the country where you live, and the mandatory consumer protections of that country still apply to you.
The European Commission's online dispute resolution platform is at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.
